Pentreath’s Training Department was set up in 2000 when it recognised the need to provide community learning and progression in an environment that was aware of and open to the needs of our clients. Any client that is referred to Pentreath can access the range of free courses provided by the Training department once an appropriate SMART (Specific, Measured, Agreed, Realistic and Timed) Training Triangle is set up. The purpose of the Training Triangle is to be a positive guide to clients wishing to progress into employment or voluntary work. The triangles are tailored to the individual needs of the client and consist of three essential training courses, plus any desirable courses or training sessions that will be required to complete the triangle. The majority of our courses are accredited by the National Open College Network (NOCN) which deliver flexible credit based awards and qualifications that assist our clients in developing skills and knowledge that will enable them to progress into further/higher education, voluntary work and/or employment. Here's what some of our clients had to say about their experiences with the Training Department:
“I have to say attending the OCN courses with Mike and Kerry have been motivating and very good for me”. Client – Sept 2009 “Pentreath courses are a great way to move forward”. Client – Sept 2009 “Pentreath are perfect in everyway, and employ the best staff and supply the best courses”. Client – Sept 2009
