HeadStart Kernow

HeadStart Kernow is a partnership programme led by Cornwall Council and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. The project develops resilience and mental well-being in young people.

What is Headstart?

We work with young people aged 10-16 years old. Young people can self-refer or can be referred by parents and professionals using the form below.  Children under 13 will need the referral form signed by a parent/carer.

We support young people to develop their resilience and mental wellbeing. We work with young people to build confidence and self-esteem and to work on things like managing anxiety, building assertiveness and healthy relationships.

If you would like to find out more, please get in touch by calling 01726 862727 or download a referral form below and send to

“I’ve been more happy and I’ve got someone to talk to once a week about what’s been going on and how things are changing. I’ve got someone that listens to me and understands what’s happening and it feels nice that someone actually understands me for once. HeadStart sessions have helped me to find things that make me feel happy, to make friends and to feel less anxious around people.”  Tom – 13.
