Recovery College Cornwall
What is the HOPE Programme?
The HOPE Programme is a self-management course designed to empower individuals, particularly those living with long-term health conditions, to manage their health and well-being effectively. Backed by 25 years of research and endorsed by the NHS, it aims to equip with skills to manage life challenges including poor physical or mental health.
It uses a strengths based approach combining positive psychology, mindfulness and cognitive behaviour therapy approaches to concentrate on the individual rather than the condition.
How Long are the Courses?
Courses are 6 weeks long, with each session lasting no more than 2.5 hours. Each course is developed around a condition to bring people together to share experiences. However the courses concentrate on the strengths of each individual rather than the actual condition.
What does the course cover?
During the 6 weeks, topics will include gratitude, goal setting, stress, sleep, problem solving, communication, pacing yourself and more. Every week mindfulness exercises are also completed.
Where Are the Courses Being Run?
The courses will be run across the county, face to face, throughout the year by our Recovery College Tutors. The courses, like our Recovery College courses, are free of charge.
How Do I Sign My Clients up to the course?
Bookings for the Hope Programme are via the usual RCC sign up, using the booking form: Booking a Course – Promoting good mental health in Cornwall
