Your Company’s Mental Health and You


FACT:

1. You probably work with someone who has, or is experiencing poor mental health.

2. One in four people will experience a mental health condition at some point.

3. In the work place, one in six people will be experiencing anxiety, depression or stress of some sort.

4. Nine out of ten people with mental health problems experience stigma and discrimination.

5. 55% of Pentreath staff have a mental health condition. We have between 30% and 50% less day’s sickness than both the private and public sectors.

6. We all have mental health, just like we all have physical health.

7. People with mental illness can and do recover.

8. The majority of people with a mental health condition can and do work

9. A person with a mental health condition often makes a very effective member of staff.

 

 

MYTH:

1. People with mental health conditions cannot work.

2. Not many people have mental health conditions.

3. People with mental health conditions never get better.

4. People with mental health conditions are not normal.

5. People who have had mental health conditions are weak.

6. People with mental health conditions are violent and unpredictable.

7. Someone with a mental health condition should be left alone.

8. I don’t know anyone with a mental health condition.

9. People aren't discriminated against because of mental health conditions

By working in partnership with Pentreath and promoting good mental health you can set yourselves as an example for others to follow and increase your own profit margin. We work with our clients on a one to one basis to create tailor made action plans to help them stay in or return to employment, education or training.

We can also deliver mental health awareness training to your company. This can be aimed at HR/Managers and or workers.
