Mental Health Personal Health Budget

The Personal Health Budget will be running from April 2024 until the budget is exhausted.

Purpose: to support people with mental health needs to stay well and at home through an identified, one off need.

A Personal Health Budget must be planned and agreed between the individual (or their representative) and a member of the Integrated Care System such as a Health and Wellbeing professional (GP, VCO employee , CPN, Advisor, Keyworker etc.).  Applications are via referral and applications from individuals cannot be accepted.  The fund is able to be creative and accommodate mental health needs.  The funding can be used for anything which will support someone with their mental health recovery.  There are a few exemptions.  Please read the guidance below fully before applying.

The fund is accessible during Pentreath opening hours – 9am – 4pm weekdays (excluding bank holidays) to anyone in Cornwall who is 18yrs and over. There is no upper age limit. We will endeavour to action any requests within the same day but due to demand this could take up to 5 working days. Out of hours (emergency only) purchases can be carried out and then reimbursed during the opening hours. Please note, purchases are made at the applying organisations own risk and reimbursement will only be made on eligible purchases once a completed Application Form, invoice and receipt of purchase is supplied

There is a maximum spend of £1,200.

PHB at Pentreath will be open until the funds are exhausted.

We operate on a first come first served basis and due to a high volume of applications being received, we cannot guarantee the ability to fund every eligible application we receive.

We are currently oversubscribed so any applications submitted will be placed on hold until we contact you.

We will keep this figure regularly updated on this page (last update 27/06/2024).

We will of course keep in contact with you to let you know the status of your application and as always, you can contact us with any questions or concerns.

The MH PHB cannot be used for:

Paying off debt

Anything illegal

Cigarettes and alcohol

Gambling

Emergency Care
